YOUR BALLROOM CHECKLIST

Everything families need to prepare for practices, performances, and competitions. We will share event-specific details throughout the season.

BALLROOM SHOES

All dancers need NDCA-approved ballroom shoes. As a Very Fine Shoes dealer, Breakaway can help families order shoes at a discounted price.

• Children’s shoes: approximately $55

• Adult shoes: approximately $60

• Higher-quality options are also available

PRACTICE ATTIRE

Ladies

• Yoga or athletic pants

• T-shirt that fully covers the torso

Gentlemen

• Athletic pants

• T-shirt that fully covers the torso

PERFORMANCE & COMPETITION ATTIRE

Ladies

• Black undershorts

• Black syllabus skirt

• Plain black blouse or leotard

• Nude leotard or tank

• Dance tights for competitions

Gentlemen

• Black dress slacks

• Black bike shorts

• Black belt and black socks

• Plain white, long-sleeve button-up shirt

HAIR & MAKEUP

Ladies should have a bun form, hair net, and hair gel. Gentlemen should have hair gel. Additional instructions will be provided before performances and competitions.

OPTIONAL ROUTINES & TRAINING

Dancers may be invited to participate in open routines, cabaret pieces, additional classes, or private lessons.

• Open routines and cabarets require Trevor or Chantal’s approval.

• A dancer’s first priority is always their team commitment.

• Optional opportunities may include additional lesson or costume costs.

• All opportunities and costs will be communicated in advance.

TUITION • SEPTEMBER–APRIL

• Preteen Team: $30/month • $240 season

• Junior and Youth Teams: $60/month • $480 season

• Advanced Team: $80/month • $640 season

Includes Technique Mastery

• Advanced Technique for dancers not on Advanced Team: $20/month

FAMILY DISCOUNTS

• Two team members: 5%

• Three team members: 10%

• Four team members: 15%
